Framing Basics: Mounting & Matting for Show

This one-day workshop will teach you how to prepare your work for framing – from determining the layout to mounting your work and cutting mats. The importance of archival materials will be emphasized. Bring one work up to 12” x 16” to class to work on. All materials included. Capacity: 16 students. Minimum: 3 students. Ages 16+.

Photographing Your Work

Be prepared to get dirty while learning how to hand-build, use the potter’s wheel, and glaze! The projects are as endless as your imagination! Glazing, firing and 25lbs of clay are included. Drawing Fundamentals

Learn to translate what you see like an artist by breaking down images into simple shapes then applying concepts of light and shadows. Stained Glass

Explore the art of stained glass by making a decorative 30-60 piece panel! Step by step instruction will guide you through choosing a pattern, glass cutting, grinding, and soldering using the copper foiling method. Basic materials, shop tools and other equipment are provided. Additional studio time is available outside of class. A short supply list of consumables (glass) will be determined the first day of class. Advanced students are welcome and may choose more advanced projects based on ability and experience. Bring a snack if you’re coming from work! Capacity:10 students. Minimum: 5 students. Ages 18+.

Metal Smithing

Pewter Casting: Valentine’s Wearable Art

2 Saturdays: February 1 & 8, 10 am - 1 pm

This two-day workshop encompasses all aspects of pewter casting wearable art from design to finished product. This entails design, mold carving, pewter casting, and finishing techniques. Each participant will leave with a truly unique piece of jewelry or small relief sculpture to hang. All materials are included. Additional materials may be purchased through the instructor. Capacity: 10 students. Minimum: 5 students. Ages 16+ (Teen students should be accompanied by a parent.)

Develop a foundation in oil painting through a series of demonstrations and class exercises focusing on still life. Watercolor

Join award winning watercolorist, Jocelyn Beatty, for a step by step introduction into the rich and versatile medium of watercolor. Several paintings will be completed over the course of eight weeks to continually build your drawing and painting skills. One of our most popular classes, many students take this class continually. Capacity: 25 students. Minimum: 14 students. Ages 16+.
